The Music
It has been my goal to see The Shins live for several albums now. They can kinda do no wrong in my book and I love Broken Bells (singer James Mercer’s side project with Danger Mouse) equally. The Shins latest album, Port of Morrow, picks up where Wincing the Night Away left off, meaning it’s just as poppy, trippy, and delightful as you’d expect. I was looking for an excuse to post anything from Morrow and chose the arresting first track, though it was a toss-up between “Bait and Switch” and “For a Fool.”
The Inspiration
This Calvin Klein jacket is on heavy rotation through the sultry Guam summer. A crisp white jacket goes with everything — from these funky jeans to maxi dresses. My jacket size is sometimes half my skirt/pant size and that’s the benefit of buying separates. A tailored fit keeps me from feeling frumpy. These are the first slim fit jeans I’ve worn since the ’90s! I avoid skinny jeans like the plague because I swear my thighs cry a little bit every time I put them on. They accentuate all the wrong places, but the cut of these Loft jeans are subtle and I can roll them up into capris. I scored this leather Fossil messenger bag for half price at Ross and I can fit my laptop in it for business meetings.
